E Books vs. Traditional Books

I love to read.  I've spent most of my life trying to help my students understand the importance of understanding the written word.

When Amazon first announced the release of their Kindle, I was a little worried. Actually, I screamed, yelled, cursed that all children would be terrible readers.

I'm pretty sure that I declared that the world, as we know it, would end.

I *might* have been a little over dramatic!!

I was pleasantly surprised to find that most of my students not only embraced digital books, but they were more likely to read if they could read on their Kindle, Cell phone or Nook.

My last year in the classroom, I polled students and found that all of them preferred reading an E book, and were more likely to purchase an E book then a hard cover or paper back.  I realized that what was important is that they were reading.

I've also been happy to see that once you purchase your E Reader, the cost of the E Book is cheaper then the paper book.  E books also save the natural resources that must be used to make the paper books.

I am now a Kindle regular, with most of my books ending up in my Kindle instead of a book shelf.  News Week recently had a feature compared the sales of E books to the standard book.  Check it out and let me know what you prefer ...  E books or Traditional Books.

In these days Ebooks become more popular that traditional books. Many of people prefer to use an Ebook because it comes from free of cost and provide lots of information about different subjects. It's also very accessible by many people at the same time.
