Friday Finds - Ladybug Girl & Kate Messner

I've been searching for more "Girl Power" books.  As a little girl reading books, I loved reading, but I can only remember one series with a strong female lead.  Maybe there were others out there, but I never found them.

Recent shopping for Adorable Addie's first birthday gifts led me to find several incredible books that were filled with strong young females who were the lead character.  I also have Awesome Avery, who is a little older then Addie, but equally as incredible!  (Addie and Avery are my nieces for those of you who don't know)  My goal this last week has been to see what is out there for these two beauties, and other young girls just like them!

My Friday Finds this week include The Brilliant Fall of Gianna Z.  Awesome book filled with the right blend of fun and seriousness.  A good book for the 3rd - 6th grader.

Anything written by Kate is exceptional.  She's written a book for writing teachers that I'm very fond of.

Another series I found just for younger children is Ladybug Girl.  This series is written by Jacky Davis and illustrated by David Soman.  (Illustrations are so important in children's books)  I love that this incredible character is continued in a series for the youngest readers.  It allows young children to become fascinated with a great character who is so richly written.

Have a great weekend and enjoy your Friday Finds!
